Hollywood - Julie Warner presents Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson
and Sidney Lumet with Amnesty International's "2005 Artists for
Amnesty Award".
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2005 -- Julie Warner presents Tom
Fontana, Barry Levinson and Sidney Lumet with Amnesty
International's "2005 Artists for Amnesty Award", which was followed
by a screening of "Strip Search" presented by HBO Films at the
Directors Guild of America.
About "Strip
Search": Acclaimed film director Sidney Lumet joins forces with
Emmy-winning Oz creator Tom Fontana to explore the precarious status
of the individual liberties post-9/11 through two parallel
stories-each containting identical dialogues-taking place on two
continents half a world away.
The film stars Glenn Close and
Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Also, in attendance for the presentation
were Oliver Stone, James Woods, Cynthia Basinet, Phil Noyce, Mayor
of West Hollywood Abbe Land, Los Angeles City Councilman Eric
Garcetti, Bonnie Abaunza of Amnesty International and Amy Lumet who
accepted on behalf of her father. Barry Levinson did not
attend.
